HYBRID WORKING COST SAVINGS CALCULATOR.
While businesses can achieve substantial cost savings (up to 80% in some scenarios – Read our Case Study here) by adopting a hybrid working model, it can be difficult to identify where these efficiencies lie within your office.
Many businesses have changed their core days. The consensus is staff are expected to be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (affectionately referred to as the ‘T.W.A.T.S’ model). However, these fluctuations within your workspace can make it challenging to identify where the efficiency savings lie and how to adapt your workspace to best implement them.
So, if you’ve ever thought, ‘How much could we save?‘ or ‘Is hybrid working worth it?‘ Our hybrid working space calculator will try to make sense of the numbers and help you answer these questions.
Ready to begin? Let’s crunch the numbers and find out if hybrid working is for you!
DESK CAPACITY
Desk Capacity refers to the number of people a room or facility can accommodate, usually determined by the number of seats or workstations available. This may be difficult for the actual number of desks that you choose to place within your workspace.
If you opt to ‘high-dense’ the workspace and have people working nearer to each other rather than removing some of the desks to allow for a more spacious working environment. If you currently occupy a leasehold or managed workspace, please factor in the total number of potential desks within the space. This includes all the breakout, lounge and communal areas. This will help you compare a serviced model with a leasehold / managed office setup.
COST PER DESK (£)
Although we always make our workspace recommendations based on ft.² and the useable space within the building. Understanding the ‘Cost Per Desk’ is important to get an accurate figure between serviced, leased and managed workspaces. This includes all expenses for on-site operations—like rent, business rates, utilities, taxes, and furniture. Divide this number by your Total Desk Capacity. This figure will ultimately help you set. budget on which office spaces to rent
TOTAL DESK CAPACITY
Compared to a traditional lease where you build the amenities into the space and pay rent 24/7, a serviced environment means you only rent the spaces when needed.
MEETING ROOM USAGE
We suggest rounding up your meeting room usage to the nearest hour. Although some workspace providers allow you to book meeting rooms in shorter time slots, most allocate credits per hour. The maximum bookable access has been set to eight hours per day. Helpful if you want to compare the costs of building your own dedicated meeting room.
Our Hybrid Working Cost Savings Calculator will accommodate negative figures. Helpful, if you are allocated a fixed amount of meeting room credits but aren’t using them. If your building has free-of-charge meeting rooms, please leave the figure at zero.
